Cardfolio help
Which emails will Cardfolio send me?
Very few. The weekly summary is the regular one, and Pro members also get a statement once a month. Everything else is either about your account, or a short note sent once when it would actually help — and every kind that isn't about your account has its own switch.
When you're new: if your account is still empty after a couple of days, one email on adding your first card, and a week in, one more setting out the three ways to get a collection in. That second one is the last — an account that stays empty isn't emailed about it again. And the first time you add cards, one summary of what you've got, sent a few hours after you finish. These come under "Other emails" in Settings.
The rest are about your account, sent only when something happens: confirming your email address (with up to three reminders — after a day, three days and two weeks — that stop the moment you confirm), a welcome when you do, and a confirmation whenever a password or email address is changed, reset, or an account deletion is requested. Those can't be switched off, because each one is how you'd find out if someone else had got into your account.
If you subscribe to Pro, Stripe, our payment provider, sends your receipts and its own renewal notice. From us you get a few plain emails about the plan itself, sent only when something changes: one when you start (in a trial, a note on day three and the notice before it ends), one confirming a cancellation and the date Pro ends, one if a payment is declined — Pro stays on while the payment is retried — and one when your plan ends. Members on a yearly plan also get a short recap a few weeks before it renews, of what Pro did for them; that one isn't sent to anyone who has asked not to get our other emails. Links in our emails work for 24 hours; after that, ask for a fresh one.
Pro members also get a statement on the 1st of every month: your month in your own numbers, which comes under "Other emails" in Settings and is kept in the app too (see "What is the monthly statement?").
Now and then we also email about something you did (a set completed, a milestone) or about Cardfolio itself, including its paid plan. When a new set arrives with its full card list, members who built a master set of one of the last few sets hear about it once, under "Other emails". We only ever write about Cardfolio and your collection, and apart from account emails you'll get at most two emails from us in a week (three in your first fortnight), weekly summary included, and never at night.
Cardfolio Watch, once it's on for your account, can also email you when something changes for your collection: at most two in 30 days, a week apart, inside that same weekly limit. They have their own switch, Watch emails.
So we can tell which emails are worth sending, we note whether an email was opened and which link was pressed. It's part of how our emails work rather than a setting, but if you'd rather we didn't, reply to any email from us or write to hello@tcgmartlondon.com and nothing about your opens or clicks is recorded from then on.
- To choose what you get: Profile → Settings → Email. "Collection summary" is Off, Weekly or Monthly. "Other emails" is one switch for everything else — set completions, milestones, the occasional tip and the odd note from the founder. Once Watch is on for your account, "Watch emails" appears there too. When you sign up, the box under the form does the same job before your first email.
- Or use "Stop emails like this" at the bottom of any of them. It needs no sign-in, stops only that kind, and leaves everything else as it was.
