Cardfolio help

What should my CSV look like?

Six columns: card_name, card_number, set_name, condition, purchase_price, quantity. Only the name — or a name and number — is genuinely required; everything else improves the match or is filled with a sensible default.

Column order doesn't matter, and common alternative headings are understood (Product Name, Qty, Expansion, Cost and so on), so an export from another tracker usually works untouched. If your headings are entirely your own, you're shown your columns with a few of your rows under each and asked which is which — only the card name is needed. Excel workbooks (.xlsx) are read directly, and you can paste rows straight from a spreadsheet. Commas, semicolons and tabs are all accepted, and prices are read the way your spreadsheet writes them — 12.50 and 12,50 are both twelve-fifty, decided from the file as a whole. If a file mixes the two styles, a price like "1,250" can't be read safely: the card still imports, without a purchase price, and says so.

Card numbers can include the denominator — 4/102 and 4 both work. Conditions can be written how you like: NM, Near Mint, Lightly Played, PSA 10 are all understood. Quantity 3 creates three separate entries; quantity 0 puts the card on your want list instead of in your collection. One row can add at most 250 copies, as a guard against a typo adding 5,000 cards — a larger quantity is set aside and flagged rather than quietly reduced. "2x" and "x2" are read as 2.

A separate Grade column works alongside Condition — a graded export that fills Grade with "PSA 10" and leaves Condition blank imports as a PSA 10, whichever order the columns are in. A grade with its company ("PSA 9", "BGS 9.5") is kept as that slab and valued as one. A grade from a company Cardfolio doesn't record (CGC, SGC…), or one the company never gives ("PSA 9.5"), imports as a raw card, and the review says why; a bare number with no company (a 10 included) imports as the raw card, and the review asks for the company. Cardfolio's own exports write the Grade column, so slabs come back as slabs.

If your file says which printing a card is — a Printing, Variant, Finish or Foil column, or "(Reverse Holo)" after the name — that decides it: Reverse Holofoil, 1st Edition, Shadowless and the rest land on that exact version, not the standard card. "Normal" and "Holofoil" mean the standard printing. With no printing given, you get the standard card. A Language column is read too: Japanese beside "Base Set" means the Japanese set, never the English one.

Set names are matched as written, so spelling them the way we do gives the cleanest result — though Pokémon and Pokemon, & and and, are treated as the same word.
