Cardfolio help

Some rows didn't match. What now?

Matching is deliberately strict — a row either matches a real catalogue card through a clear rule, or it's set aside with a reason. We'd rather flag ten rows than silently put one wrong card in your collection.

Every unmatched row tells you why, and most can be fixed right there in the review: open the row. If it was set aside because it could be one of several cards, those cards are listed — tap the one you own. Otherwise you can search the catalogue in place and pick it. The row then imports with the quantity, condition and price your file gave it.

Anything you'd rather fix in your spreadsheet can leave as a file: "Download these rows" gives you just the unplaced rows, in your own columns, with a column saying why. Fix them, import that file, and nothing already imported is doubled.

  1. "Card not found" — no catalogue card has that name. Check the spelling against the card; if it says "add a set or card number", do that and it can usually be placed.
  2. "Set … not found" — check the set's spelling, or delete the set cell and leave the card number in.
  3. "Found in multiple sets" — add a set_name, or a card_number.
  4. "#4 in Base Set is Dewgong, not Charizard" — the name and the number disagree. Almost always the number: check it against the card.
  5. "N variants share #12 (…)" — open the row and choose the printing you own.
  6. "Several Mewtwo variants in that set (…)" — include the card number.
  7. "No 'Master Ball' printing of Fletchling listed here (…)" — your file names a printing we don't list for that card. Open the row to see the ones we do list and choose one; we won't swap in the standard card ourselves, because it's usually worth a different amount.
  8. "Korean cards aren't in the catalogue" — Cardfolio lists English and Japanese printings; other languages are set aside rather than imported as the English card.
  9. "The file says English, but the only match is the Japanese …" — the language column and the set disagree. Fix whichever is wrong.
  10. "Unrecognised condition" — use NM, LP, HP or PSA 10.
  11. "Looks like a sealed product — add its set" — put the set name in the set column.
  12. "Evolving Skies has 4 Elite Trainer Box versions (…)" — we stock more than one; put the version's name in the row.
  13. "This row has 6 values but the file has 5 columns" — a comma inside one of the cells is splitting the row. Wrap that cell in quotes, or remove the comma.
  14. A quantity of 0 isn't a problem: the row says you want the card rather than own it, so it goes on your want list (marked "Want list" in the review).
  15. "Quantity 999 is over the 250 a row can carry" — split it across two or more rows. "Quantity … isn't a number" — put a plain number in that cell.
  16. For anything left over, download the unplaced rows, fix them in your spreadsheet and import that shorter file as a second pass — matched rows from the first import are already saved.
