Cardfolio help

How does scanning actually work?

The scanner watches for the shape of a card in the frame. Once it sees one and you hold it steady for about a second, it captures automatically and sends that single frame off to be identified.

Reading a card takes a moment. The frame keeps showing the card where you held it, with a gold line sweeping over it, while that happens — tap Cancel to go back to the camera at any point.

Your camera is switched fully off while the card is being read, which is why the camera indicator on your phone goes dark between scans.

The first time you open the scanner, a short demo shows what good framing looks like; the ? button brings it back. A soft click plays when it captures and a chime when a card is added. To turn them off, tap ? and switch off "Capture sounds" (on iPhone, the silent switch mutes them too).

A valuable card gets a moment of its own after a single scan: its value is revealed rather than just shown, and the more it's worth, the bigger the reveal. Tap anywhere to skip the longer ones. If your device is set to reduce motion, you get a short fade instead. Batch scanning never plays them.

Closed a result by mistake? A "Card not added" message appears for a few seconds. Tap Undo on it to bring the result back.
