The camera won't turn on

Almost always a browser permission rather than a fault. Cardfolio can ask for the camera once — after that the answer is remembered by your browser, and a previous "block" has to be undone in browser settings.

1. Close the scanner and open it again — a one-off failure often clears on its own.
2. Check nothing else is using the camera (another tab, a video call).
3. Tap the padlock or ⓘ in your browser's address bar and set Camera to Allow, then reload.
4. On iPhone: Settings → Safari → Camera → Allow. On Android Chrome: Settings → Site settings → Camera.
5. If you're on a laptop, check the physical camera shutter or privacy switch.
6. Still stuck? Add cards by searching the catalogue while we sort it out.
