Cardfolio help

Why does my card say "Bulk value" or "Not individually priced"?

Because below about £2 (or $2), a per-card price stops meaning anything. Nobody sells a 5p common on its own, so pricing it as though they do would inflate your collection with money you could never actually get.

So modern low-value cards are valued the way they really change hands: as bulk, sold by the lot. "Bulk value" is what a card of that kind realistically fetches when you sell a pile yourself — a little more than a dealer would pay you and a lot less than buying each card again one at a time. Bulk is the same in any condition, so NM, LP and HP all show one figure.

Japanese bulk is valued too, at roughly half the English rate. No dealer publishes a Japanese bulk rate on its own, so we take the English rate and scale it by what dealers who buy both languages pay for Japanese compared with English.

"Not individually priced" means there is no bulk value we can stand behind for that card. Rather than invent a number, we count it at 0.00. It isn't worthless; we just won't guess. Basic energy cards count at nothing in the UK for a related reason: UK bulk buyers don't pay for them.

A card is never treated as bulk if it's sealed, graded (a PSA 10 always keeps its PSA 10 price), released before 2011, a first edition, shadowless or other special print run, or a secret rare. Bulk values count towards your collection total like any other value. A bulk card has no price chart and won't appear in movers.

  1. On your collection's All cards view (UK market), the note under your stats says how many of your cards are bulk and what they add up to — tap "Why?" for the full working.
  2. If a card you know is worth real money is showing as bulk, tell us the card — that's a pricing error worth fixing.
