When should I use the list view instead?

Switch to List when you are working rather than looking. It is compact rows with the filters, multi-select and bulk actions — changing ten conditions at once, or moving a stack of cards to another binder.

The binder view deliberately doesn't carry those. Condition filters and bulk select would empty pockets and break the page you are looking at, so they live one tap away instead.

Cardfolio remembers which of the two you last used and opens binders that way next time.
